Chapter Awards
Awards Voted On And Decided By The Chapter.
TKE of The Year
This award is to be given to a brother in the chapter whose daily life is dominated by love, charity, and esteem. They are the very embodiment of all that Tau Kappa Epsilon Xi Omega aims to achieve and stand for. Through selflessness unwavering commitment, continuous hard work, and constant dedication this person should have proven that they are worthy of the chapters top honor of being TKE of The Year.
Apollo TKE
This award is to be given to a brother in the chapter whose attendance and contribution to meetings, events, socials, etc is constant. This frater should be someone who is continually working hard to improve the welfare of the chapter and his fellow brothers. This award should go to someone who best represents and demonstrates in his daily life the ideals of TKE.
Chapter Service Award
This award is to go to the brother who has shown a serious commitment to better himself and the community through philanthropy, chapter community service projects, and Virginia Tech community service projects.
Chapter Social Award
This award is to go to the brother who has demonstrated and shown a serious commitment to improving the chapter relationships with sororities, fraternities, and other organizations on campus. Someone who has constantly represented himself in a positive manner to other members of Virginia Tech community.
Alumni of The Year
This award is to be given to an Alumni frater of Xi Omega TKE. An alumni who after graduation is still visibly active and dedicated to the success of the chapter.
Chapter Athlete of the Year
This award is presented annually to the fraternity member that excels in athletic performance at official TKE athletic events. This frater while performing at high level should also be someone who also has constantly demonstrated sportsmanship as well.
Best Pledge
This award is to go to someone who pledged the previous semester. When deciding on this award the chapter should consider grades, attendance at pledge events, involvement while pledging, etc.
Best Big Brother
Given to the frater who best demonstrated the role of big brother. This frater should be someone who consistently helped guide his little brother through the pledge process while also helping him academically. Someone who truly helped developed their little brother into a contributing frater for years to come.
Officer Awards
Awards decided upon by the current office holder of the award.
Prytanis “Gavel” Award
This award is to be presented to the brother who has gone above and beyond with his commitment and dedication to TKE. A brother who has constantly performed his office or chair. A brother who has exceed all the expectations of a brother and acts in a manner consistent with the ideals and goals of the chapter.
Epi Prytanis “Open Book” Award
This award goes to the brother who has done the best job performing and executing the roles and responsibilities of his chair.
Grammateus “Crossed Quills” Award
This award must go to a brother who is ranked in the top 5 in chapter attendance. A brother who whole consistently shows up on time with a positive attitudes. Other considerations for this award should include encouraging other’s to attend, and attendance at optional events.
Crysopholos “Key” Award
This award goes to a brother who meets and exceeds all the financial expectations of TKE in a timely fashion. Someone who goes above and beyond in helping the chapter fundraise and stay afloat.
Histor “Old Timer” Award
This award goes to a brother who even as an upperclassmen has continued to stay dedicated and active within the fraternity.
Hypophetes “Heart” Award
This award goes to the brother with the biggest heart for TKE. The brother who demonstrates and displays the most passion and dedication to TKE. Someone who is guided by Love, Charity, and Esteem at all times.
Pylortes “Dagger” Award
This award goes to the brother who consistently respects the TKE house. A brother who picks up trash or cleans during non scheduled clean ups. Someone who hasn’t disrespected the house or the property in any manner.
Hegemon “Most Improved” Award
This award goes to a brother who has been in the fraternity for less than a year and shown the most improvement since he pledged.
