Athletics
Throughout the year TKE particpates in a variety of Intramural sports offered through the school Intramural sports program.
Intramural sports we usually particpate in as a chapter are Soccer, 3 on 3 Basketball, 5 on 5 Basketball, Flag Football, Wallyball, Inner Tube Waterpolo, Softball, and NCAA Pickems.
Individully are members have particpated in Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Miniature Golf, Racquetball, and Swimming.
Throughout the course of the year, the Inter - Fraternity Council at Virginia Tech host athletic tournaments allowing the 34 fraternities to compete against each other. Sports can include, but are not limited to the following: Soccer, Flag Football, Basketball, Softball, Volleyball, and Innertube Waterpolo.
Fraternities who choose to compete in athletic tournaments are eligible to receive points toward the Greek Hokie Grail, which will be awarded at the end of each academic year to the fraternity with the highest cumulative point total. The winning fraternity will have their letters engraved permanently on the trophy.
The composition of sporting events is as follows:
1. Each fraternity will only be allowed one full team for each competition
2. Attendance: Any chapter who signs up and fields a full team for any tournament will receive 50 points toward their total.
3. Major Sporting event (Football, Softball): 1st place: 750 points, 2nd: 450 points, 3rd: 300 points
4. Intermediate Sporting event (Soccer, Basketball): 1st place: 500 points, 2nd: 300 points, 3rd: 200 points
5. Minor Sporting event (Volleyball, Innertube Waterpolo): 1st place: 350 points, 2nd: 175 points, 3rd: 100 points
6. Any team that has a player rejected for any reason from any event will have 200 points deducted from their total.
7. In the case of tournament cancellation, a replacement event will be determined by the Director of Athletics.
